Overview
Our live integrations with Partly and PartsTrader provide fast, accurate and secure access to real time parts data. These integrations require ongoing development, monitoring and hosting. To support this work, a 1 percent parts integration fee is applied only when the integration is used.
This page explains how the fee works and why it is charged.
What is the 1 percent fee
The 1 percent fee is applied when you order parts using the Partly or PartsTrader integrations.
Key points:
- Calculated on parts only
- Ex GST
- Ex freight
- No charge on labour
- Only applies when the integration is used
- No fee on jobs where the integration is not used
This ensures the cost is tied directly to usage.
Why we charge this fee
Maintaining secure, reliable and industry compliant integrations is resource intensive. These integrations involve:
- API development and version updates
- Continuous server hosting
- Data mapping and format management
- Monitoring and error handling
- Ongoing support and maintenance
- Testing with platform changes from insurers and parts providers
Although insurers benefit from the data accuracy and transparency these integrations provide, they currently do not fund their development or operation. The 1 percent fee allows us to continue delivering these integrations without increasing subscription prices for all users.
How the fee is calculated
The fee is simple and transparent.
- 1 percent of the total parts value
- Charged only when the integration is used
- Recorded automatically when you source parts
- Added as a line item in the miscellaneous section
- If removed from the quote, the fee still applies because the integration was used to source parts
This keeps the system fair and consistent.
Can I on-charge this to insurers
Yes. The 1 percent fee is a legitimate business cost associated with sourcing parts through a third-party integration. Many repairers choose to on-charge this fee directly to insurers as part of normal job costing.
You decide if you on-change it or not.
Why this approach is fair
This model ensures that:
- Repairers who use the integrations contribute to funding them
- Repairers who do not use the integrations pay nothing
- Subscription pricing remains stable
- Integrations remain available and financially sustainable
- The industry receives a supported, long term solution
The fee keeps the system equitable while supporting ongoing innovation and reliability.
Our commitment
We will continue to invest in:
- Secure, stable API integrations
- Fast and reliable system performance
- Reducing double entry and manual effort for repairers
- Supporting insurer requirements
- Maintaining a long term integration ecosystem for the industry
